This is a Lunar Calendar (for 2025 or 2026) in the style of a Wheel of the Year, designed to help us stay attuned to the moon and seasons, and inspire us to connect more deeply with the rhythms of nature. This handmade watercolor painting is a decorative art print and a practical tool, informing us of when the moon is full, new, waxing, and waning, as well as when the astrological seasons begins and end, and when the solstices and equinoxes occur. Written around the circumference of the calendar are words invoking the themes, practices, and intentions traditionally associated with each phase of the moon, and corresponding season of the year.

The original calendar was hand-painted by me, Cat Tween, in watercolors, at my home in the Berkshire mountains. The original piece was designed for the year 2021, but I update it to be accurate for each new year. Please know that when you buy art from my shop, you are supporting a real human being who creates paintings by hand -- no AI used, ever. Thank you for caring!
...
We are subtly but profoundly influenced by the moon and her phases, and I believe that coming into deeper intimacy with the rhythms of the lunar cycle can support us in living a more balanced life. This calendar is a tool for honing our awareness of the moon's cycles, so that we may move in greater harmony with her influence in our lives.
---
Just as the moon’s gravity pulls on the waters of the Earth, causing the tides, she also works in subtle yet powerful ways on the waters of our own bodies. The amount of sunlight reflected back onto the Earth by the moon at night influences all life here as well, grounding us within a cyclical rhythm of waxing and waning, expansion and contraction, shadow and light.

There are currently calendars available for both 2025 and 2026. Each calendar runs from January to December of that year, so if you order both, you will receive two calendars, one for each year.
...
There are two sizes of prints available, on two different qualities of paper:
...
The smaller size prints are 12.5 x 12.5 inches. The larger prints are 20 x 20 inches (the actual size of the original painting).
...
Both sizes of prints are available on premium matte cardstock paper, or on textured cotton fine art paper.
...
The prints are made locally, and I ship them myself from my home. I am a one-woman small business and my art is my livelihood, so when you purchase something from my shop, you are helping to make a real human being's dreams come true! And please know that I am so deeply grateful.

Read on for some more info about the spiritual significance of the lunar cycle!
The new moon and winter are the times of greatest darkness in the lunar and solar cycles. The shadowed moon reflects no light, and the winter days are shorter as the sun’s presence wanes. This is a time for deep rest, stillness, introspection, receptivity, dreaming and visioning. It is a pause, an in-between-time, when the previous cycle has ended but the next has not yet begun. It is a good moment to set intentions for the coming cycle.
The energy of the waxing moon and springtime encourage rapid growth, opening to new beginnings, and increasing engagement with the outer world. Progress, productivity, creativity and attraction are supported at this time, as solar energy increases. It is an auspicious time to put plans into action, break ground on a new project, or cultivate new habits or behaviors.
The full moon and summertime is the culmination of the active, creative, expansive half of the lunar and seasonal cycles. Projects are supported in coming to fruition, intentions manifest more easily in reality, and creative energy is at its peak at this time.
The waning moon and autumn is aligned with grateful harvest of the fruits of our action, reflection on the passing cycle, and release of what is no longer helpful. The darkening moon and darkening days support winding down, turning inward, shedding, and letting go.
